Setup guide
Add Dibsline to Perplexity
Dibsline is a remote MCP connector. You add it to Perplexity by its address, sign in with an emailed code, and ask in plain English.
Checked on 31 Oct 2026 against Perplexity's own help page, Adding custom remote connectors, and its changelog entry of 12 Mar 2026, What we shipped. The rules and steps below are those pages' words; if a page has changed since, the page is right and this guide is behind. Dibsline is not affiliated with Perplexity.
Who can add it
- Plans: the help page does not name any. The changelog of 12 Mar 2026 says "Pro, Max, and Enterprise subscribers can now connect Perplexity to any external tool or data source".
- Countries and mobile: the pages do not say.
- In an organization, an administrator adds organization-wide connectors under Organization settings, then Connectors; members may add their own only when "Allow members to add custom connectors" is on, which "is disabled by default".
The addresses to enter
Dibsline Permits
https://mcp.dibsline.com/permits/mcp
Dibsline Carriers
https://mcp.dibsline.com/carriers/mcp
Each is its own connector. Add the one you need, or both; one sign-in works for both.
The steps
- Open "Plugins" in the sidebar (or Customize, then Connectors, if Plugins is not shown).
- Choose "Add custom", then "Add MCP connector".
- Select "Remote".
- Fill in Name ("A display name for your connector, up to 64 characters"), for example Dibsline Permits, and the MCP server URL: one of the two addresses above. A description and an icon are optional.
- Under "Advanced": Authentication "OAuth"; Transport "Streamable HTTP"; Network access "Public". Dibsline supports dynamic client registration, so no Client ID or Client Secret is needed.
- Tick the acknowledgement checkbox and click "Add".
- Select the connector card to start authentication.
The authentication is Dibsline's sign-in: Perplexity opens Dibsline's page, where you type your email address, then the 6-digit code Dibsline emails you, and allow access. There is no password. Then ask, for example, "Roof permits in Chicago this week".
